WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE DESIGN OF MODERN DATA CENTERS
USEFUL CURRENT TRENDS

LIST OF TRENDS
DATA CENTER DESIGN ALWAYS ADDRESSES THE QUALITY AND EFFICIENCY OF YOUR SOLUTION AT THE SAME TIME, WHICH CREATES A NUMBER OF CONTRADICTIONS.
THE QUALITY OF THE SOLUTION IS DEFINED BY STANDARDS - USING FOUR CLASSES OF AVAILABILITY.
THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SOLUTION IS GIVEN/ASSESSED BY ASSESSING ESG FACTORS - THE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT, SOCIETY AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION/MANAGEMENT.
MODULAR CONSTRUCTION CONCEPT - MODULAR DATA CENTERS
A modular approach to non-ICT data center infrastructure solutions brings - higher efficiency of investments, flexibility of capacity and resources, higher speed in decision-making and construction, higher certainty of the achieved result.
There is no reason to limit the modular approach only to the design of computing systems :-).
The resulting data center solution is very quickly assembled from typical technological modules such as hall module, power supply module, cooling module, corridor module, ODF/MMR module, etc.
NATURAL WAY OF COOLING - DIRECT FREE COOLING AND DX COOLING
Direct free cooling can also be applied to existing solutions with DX machine cooling, adding a key air conditioning element to existing cooling systems in data centers. It reduces the carbon footprint and saves approximately 70% of the existing energy consumption for cold production per year. It allows to cool, approximately 80% of the year, a data center without a mechanical cooling system. It is suitable for energy density up to 5kW/rack.
Annual DC PUE with only DX cooling is around 1.4 maximum, more commonly 1.7 or more.
Annual DC PUE with DFC and DX cooling is around 1.25 max, more commonly 1.45.
The world average is PUE 1.58.
This solution also makes it possible to recycle the lost waste heat of data centers.
RETURN TO WATER COOLING - WATER COOLING WITH INDIRECT FREE COOLING
Water cooling with free indirect cooling is an effective solution for larger data centers with higher planned energy density above 5kW/rack. There are currently several variants of systems for data centers using this type of cooling system, e.g. FAN WALL / VENT WALL, etc., for existing inter-rack or stand-alone hall units.
Annual DC PUE with CW cooling is around 1.3 maximum, more commonly 1.6 or more.
This solution allows the waste heat of data centers to be recycled.
NEW INNOVATIVE COOLING - PRECISION LIQUID COOLING, IMMERSION COOLING
In the last few years, new methods of cooling ICT devices have appeared on the market, which are suitable not only for HPC sets of computing systems and data storage.
These new methods of cooling servers and data storages bring a new original innovative solution allowing to cool ICT without the production of cold only using the temperature of the surrounding outdoor environment and, moreover, they are very easy and well integrated into the heating systems of urban buildings. They reduce cooling energy consumption almost to zero to the level of 3 to 5% of the original cost.
Annual DC PUE with innovative ways cooling is around 1.13 maximum, more commonly 1.2.
These solutions are directly designed to recycle waste heat from data centers.
